Furnware Recount

As part of our Movers & Shakers inquiry learning, Sheppard house visited the local and iconic Hawke’s Bay business, Furnware. This is an example of a local business that is using creativity and innovation to produce furniture for flexible spaces. If they hadn’t become innovative the business almost certainly would have closed down. Here is my recount of this visit…

                                     Furnware Recount

Rooms 10,11 and 12 got on the bus and went to Furnware. When we got to Furnware room 10 learnt about the history of Furnware. Then we went into the design room where we got split up into groups and we got to design our own table. After that we got split up into 3 groups again and then we had a tour around the factory with one of the staff to teach us the stuff.  We saw robots welding. The three big containers with toxic stuff in them. Then we saw them put white powder stuff on them. And then we saw a lady putting the chairs together. And then we went and saw tables being made. And then we went out to the car park and went to see the shipping container getting lifted off the truck but we just missed it. Once we finished our three activities we thanked the staff and then got back on the bus and went back to school.

inquiry

I did my inquiry about AJ Hackett inventing bungee jumping.
but I didn't completely finish it.
